Questions & Answers

(Verbal answers are recorded in the video)

Q: Is it OK to delete drafts when you’ve uploaded and got a product in the catalog?
A: Once a product is published you *can* delete your draft, BUT any assets that are unused will be deleted. Unused assets are not included with the published product.

Q: Do you need to have textures on clothes, like skirts or shirts, set to composite to use shininess and normal maps?
A: No. You can use shininess and normal maps with any Transparency Mode: None, Composite Blend, Additive Blend, and Alpha Test.

Q: Will you guys be adding the file size limit change to hairstyles? Because ethnic hairs have a lot of limitation with the current file size limit.
A: We are still evaluating file size limits for product types.

Q: When the map with opacity and shine map are used, can one still add a simple map animation horizontal/vertical? And can the shine be independently animated or not? So will it then animate all the various textures or also individually?
A: That is a great question. No. When you use texture animation it currently animates all textures together, but this would be a great feature to add.

Q: Does the shine on items only work in rooms that were made in IMVU Studio?
A: Shine is only available in IMVU Desktop, the IMVU Website (NOT the Classic Website) and IMVU Mobile. It will not be visible on Classic Client.

Q: Would you advise if we should set the reflectivity to zero if we use shininess if we create such type of necklace?
A: No. If you want shininess you need to have some reflectivity, but maybe not all the way to 100. Try between and 60 and 80.

Q: It would be awesome to have a separate texture animation setting with shine. So one can animate the shine to flow.
A: Yes. That is interesting. There may be a way to do that with multiple materials on a single mesh. I would need to play around with that.

Q: I don’t really know how to start to create. I need help.
A: If you’re a new Creator we recommend checking out the “Get Started” section of https://create.imvu.com. To learn how to use IMVU Studio, look at https://create.imvu.com/article-topics/getting-started/
