Editing a Project from Classic

 

In this tutorial you’ll learn how to Import .CHKN files and edit products originally made in IMVU Classic, using the new IMVU Studio Creator Tool.

Search for your Project File

Local projects made in IMVU Classic are stored on your computer.

To import these .CHKN files into IMVU Studio, click on the Hamburger menu in the upper left hand corner.

Then choose File > New > New from CHKN.

Retrieving your CHKN file on a Mac

Once you go through the previous steps, your Finder will pop up.

To locate your project file in Finder, go to This PC > Local Disk C > Users > User Name > Documents > IMVU Projects.

If you chose to save your .CHKN file in another location, your files might not be located as shown above.

Retrieving your CHKN file on in Windows

Once you go through the previous steps, your File Explorer will pop up.

To locate your project file in File Explorer, go to This PC > Documents  > IMVU Projects.

Opening your CHKN files in IMVU Studio

After selecting a .CHKN file, click open. Your products will automatically appear in IMVU Studio ready for deriving.

Find your Projects in IMVU Studio

Another way to find your projects is to click “Published” in your IMVU Studio home page. This will show both products made in IMVU Classic and IMVU Studio.

You can find your projects more easily by using IMVU Studio filters, which you can find on the IMVU Studio home page.

To edit a product simply click on it.

This will generate a product can either be edited or submitted as a new product.
