Add an Image to Your Shirt – Customize in Photoshop

Customize in Photoshop

Click on Open or select one to open the front texture of the T-shirt in Photoshop.

To make sure the IMVU experience is fun for everyone, we have specific guidelines on what content is acceptable. Therefore, it is very important that every Creator reads this policy.

To know more about Policies and Usage at IMVU, please read the Policies and Usage articles.

Following IMVU guidelines, choose an image that you would like to add to your shirt.

  • Go to the top menu and click on File ➞ Place Embedded….
  • Browse the folder where you saved the image and select it.
  • Click Place.

The image can be resized and positioned as desired.

Click and drag the resize handles at the corners of the image to adjust its size and position.

When the image is set, either click the check box at the top or press the “enter” key on your keyboard to apply the changes.

Delete the Image

If you change your mind and you do not want that image to be placed, just press the “esc” key on your keyboard and it will end up cancelling the whole process.

Layers Tab (on the right bottom of the screen) will help you move from one layer to the other to edit each according to your needs.


If necessary, go to the Layers Dock and click on the arrows outside of the Dock’s Opacity Tile to lower the image’s transparency level.


CONGRATULATIONS! The front of your T-shirt has a new look.

  • Save the changes by going to the top menu and clicking on File ➞ Save As …
  • Select the folder where you want to save the texture, name it, and click on Format.
  • A window pops up.
  • Select JPEG and click on the Save button.

A new window appears. Click Ok.


The new texture has been saved in your chosen folder.
